Our community is an ecosystem
Bolinas and Stinson Beach are surrounded by the lagoon, the ridges, and protected parklands — an ecosystem that thrives because of its diversity. Farmers and artists, teachers and first responders, young families and elders, renters and second-home owners each have an essential part in keeping our community resilient. For more than 40 years, the Bolinas Community Land Trust has worked to nurture that whole ecosystem.
Today, 7% of Bolinas and Stinson Beach, more than 115 people, live in a BCLT home.
Together, this year, we have accomplished a lot:
70 acres on the Big Mesa in Bolinas are now community-owned. The former Tacherra Ranch, aka The Ranch, will become 25 permanent homes, with more than 80% of the land kept as open space and farmland.
8 new homes for purchase at 31 Wharf Road are fully funded and under construction, along with a community emergency well. The first approved buyers include a chef, a librarian, a lifeguard, and a bus driver.
47 displaced community members have a safe, stable temporary home at Bo-Linda Vista, and they will be first in line for the permanent homes at The Ranch.

We need to raise $1.4M by December 31 to keep our projects, properties, and programs on track. Every gift received by December 31 will be matched one-to-one, up to $100,000.
