A major milestone for the Bo-Linda Vista Housing Initiative is that BCLT now owns, instead of leases, all of the RVs at Bo-Linda Vista. This is a big success for everyone at the organization, but a special thanks goes to Alejandra, our tireless site manager. Alejandra drew on 10 years of experience in RV maintenance and repair to get all outbound leased RVs up to spec, advised BCLT on replacement units and coordinated all of the logistics, from lease return dates, to RV on-site delivery dates, setup (and much, much more), making the transition process for residents smooth the whole way through. Thank you Alejandra!!
We also give a big welcome to Jezabel Wilkinson, a new Case Manager at West Marin Community Services who is working with Bo-Linda Vista residents, helping them identify goals - whether they be personal, financial, medical, etc. and implementing plans to help residents meet them.
Meanwhile, planning has begun for a spring garden at Bo-Linda Vista. Residents are working alongside Ezequiel Guzman, a long-time farmer and farmworker advocate, who operates the Jardines del Pueblo community farms initiative in Sonoma County.
Looking ahead, our project team is now in the exciting project ideation phase for developing permanent housing on the Tacherra Ranch over the four to five years - the continuation of BCLT’s anti-displacement initiative with Bo-Linda Vista Residents.
As part of this effort, the Bo-Linda Vista Project Manager Kiko Guss, and BCLT Co-Director Annie O’Connor, attended the California Community Land Trust conference in Fresno. Kiko is now also a member of the Board of that organization, bringing representation from West Marin into the CLT conversation at the state level. At the conference, Kiko facilitated a workshop on case studies in homeownership for underbanked communities featuring speakers from San Francisco CLT, Oakland CLT, Pueblo Unido CDC in the Eastern Coachella Valley, and Comunidad Nuevo Lago in Fresno. The BCLT team also made many helpful contacts at the state level to support our initiatives, Bo-Linda Vista and beyond. Please contact us directly if you’d like to know more!

Un hito importante para la Iniciativa de Vivienda de Bo-Linda Vista es que BCLT ahora es propietario, en lugar de arrendatario, de todos los vehículos recreativos en Bo-Linda Vista. Este es un gran éxito para todos en la organización, pero un agradecimiento especial para Alejandra, nuestra incansable administradora de sitio. De cara al futuro, nuestro equipo de proyecto se encuentra en la emocionante fase de ideación para desarrollar viviendas permanentes en el Rancho Tacherra durante los próximos cuatro a cinco años, lo que constituye la continuación de la iniciativa antidesplazamiento de BCLT con los residentes de Bo-Linda Vista.
Como parte de este esfuerzo, Kiko Guss, gerente de proyecto de Bo-Linda Vista, y Annie O'Connor, codirectora de BCLT, asistieron a la conferencia del Fideicomiso de Tierras Comunitarias de California en Fresno. Kiko ahora también es miembro de la junta directiva de dicha organización, lo que aporta representación de West Marin al debate sobre el Fideicomiso de Tierras Comunitarias de California (CLT) a nivel estatal.
