This year as we both reflect back on our 40ish year history, and look forward to the next 40ish years, we also want to be sure to take a moment to look at our present. Although the BCLT often speaks about our mission to ensure affordable housing in perpetuity for our community, and what those numbers look like, it's also important to speak about who those numbers represent, our community members. This month we took the opportunity to speak with Charlie, a Bolinas-Stinson School graduate and current employee, a Bo-Stin Summer Camp Counselor, and a BCLT resident.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, a brief bio?
I’ve lived in Bolinas my whole life going through the Bolinas school and now working as the ceramics teacher there. I spend some of my free time playing soccer as well as coaching the youth soccer team.
How long have you been a BCLT resident and what did that process look like?
I think since my Sophomore year of high school in 2012.
How has being a BCLT resident helped you to foster meaningful relationships in the community?
Being apart of the BCLT has allowed me to stay in Bolinas and because of that I am able to work for the Bolinas school and be closer to my family and friends (my community).
As a resident, you are also a voting member of BCLT. Why is it important for community members to become BCLT members?
So that their voices can be heard and to keep community decisions and possible changes chosen by the community. So that the community can be updated on the latest news in the town and not miss important events.

¿Podrías contarnos un poco sobre ti, una breve biografía?
He vivido en Bolinas toda mi vida; fui alumno de la escuela de Bolinas y ahora trabajo allí como profesor de cerámica. Dedico parte de mi tiempo libre a jugar al fútbol, así como a entrenar al equipo juvenil de fútbol.
¿Desde hace cuánto tiempo eres residente de BCLT y cómo fue ese proceso?
Creo que desde mi segundo año de preparatoria, en 2012.
¿De qué manera el ser residente de BCLT te ha ayudado a fomentar relaciones significativas dentro de la comunidad?
Formar parte de BCLT me ha permitido permanecer en Bolinas y, gracias a ello, puedo trabajar en la escuela de Bolinas y estar más cerca de mi familia y mis amigos (mi comunidad). Como residente, también eres miembro con derecho a voto de BCLT.
¿Por qué es importante que los miembros de la comunidad se afilien a BCLT?
Para que sus voces sean escuchadas y para asegurar que las decisiones comunitarias —así como los posibles cambios— sean elegidas por la propia comunidad. Y también para que la comunidad se mantenga al día con las últimas noticias del pueblo y no se pierda ningún evento importante.
